Special Category Data (Religion)

If you choose to provide your religion, you must give explicit consent.

You may withdraw this consent at any time via:

Settings → Privacy → Withdraw Religion Consent.

Upon withdrawal, we immediately stop processing your religion.

Premium Subscription

Premium costs £2.99/month and grants:

• 5 chat requests per day (vs 2 for free) — resets at 00:00 UTC
• Filters by city, age, and religion
• Global discovery (browse and send chat requests beyond your home area)

Chat requests are allowances, not guarantees. A chat opens only when both people request each other (mutual).

Auto-renewal

Premium is £2.99/month and auto-renews monthly unless cancelled. You can cancel anytime in Settings → Manage Subscription.

Cancellation

You may cancel at any time. Your Premium benefits continue until the end of the billing period.

Refund Policy

Premium is non-refundable once activated. Because Premium grants instant access to digital features (extra daily chat requests, filters, global discovery, etc.), all sales are final.

This is standard for digital services and complies with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By upgrading to Premium, you agree to instant access and waive your statutory 14-day cooling-off period.

What this means:

• No refunds or partial refunds for Premium subscriptions
• You can cancel anytime, but you won't receive a refund for the current billing period
• Premium benefits continue until the end of your paid period after cancellation
• Future renewals are cancelled immediately when you cancel

Behaviour & Safety Rules

To protect users, the following are prohibited:

• Sharing contact details (phone, email, social media) without mutual agreement — you may exchange contact info when both users consent
• Sharing any identifying information without consent

Other unacceptable behaviour:

• Harassment, threats, discrimination
• Explicit sexual content
• Impersonation
• Scamming or fraudulent behaviour

Breaches may result in suspension or termination.

Chats, Identity & Contact Exchange

Identity & Anonymity: Users remain anonymous within the platform. DateBeyondBorders does not automatically reveal identities. Users may choose to exchange personal contact information at their own discretion.

Conversations: Conversations may continue for as long as both users wish. There is no automatic expiration tied to identity disclosure.

Chat Requests: Free users: 2 outgoing requests per UTC day (resets 00:00 UTC). Premium users: 5 per UTC day. A chat opens only when both people request each other (mutual). Requests are allowances, not guarantees.

Ending Chats: Users may end a conversation at any time. Ending a chat prevents further interaction.

Contact Exchange: Contact details are only shared if both users mutually agree to exchange them voluntarily.

We do not guarantee a chat, a date, a relationship, or chemistry.

Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

We do not store card details.

All payment data is subject to Stripe's own policies.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Object to processing of your data
• Data portability (receive your data in a portable format)
• Withdraw consent (e.g., for religion data) at any time

Data Retention

We retain your data for the following periods:

• Account data and messages: Until you delete your account or 24 months of inactivity
• Payment records: Processed and stored by Stripe, our payment provider. Stripe may retain transaction records per legal requirements. We do not store full card details.
• Abuse reports and safety logs: 24 months
• System logs: Up to 12 months

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes (e.g., payment records).

Cookies

We use essential cookies only for authentication and security. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, including but not limited to:

• Providing false information (especially regarding age)
• Violating our Behaviour & Safety Rules
• Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour
• Fraudulent activity or scamming
• Sharing contact information without mutual consent

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Data Retention policy.

Disputes & Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes may be resolved through the courts of England and Wales.
